Our Medical Advisory Board helps Sphere Medical to ensure that we maintain the best clinical practices and strive for continual quality improvement. The Board brings wide ranging expertise to help guide our clinical programme to understand and address clinical needs. All members of the Medical Advisory Board are acting in a personal capacity and this does not constitute or imply endorsement of their respective institutions.

Prof. Jean-Louis Vincent

Prof. Jean-Louis VincentProfessor of Intensive Care at University of Brussels. He is intensive care physician in the Department of Intensive Care at the Erasme University Hospital in Brussels. Dr. Vincent has signed more than 800 original articles, some 300 book chapters and review articles, and 850 original abstracts, and has edited 86 books. Dr. Vincent is the editor-in-chief of "Critical Care", "Current Opinion in Critical Care", and "ICU Management". He has received the Distinguished Investigator Award of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the College Medalist Award of the American College of Chest Physicians, was the Recipient of the "Society Medal”(lifetime award) of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine and has received the prestigious Belgian scientific award of the FRS-FNRS (Prix Scientifique Joseph Maisin-Sciences biomédicales cliniques).

 

Prof. Michael Quintel

Prof. Michael QuintelProfessor Quintel is a leading clinician within the German and European intensive care profession.  He is the Director of the Department of Anaesthesiology, Emergency and Intensive Care Medicine at the University of Göttingen, Germany.  Professor Quintel is also member of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM) group on respiratory failure and member of the scientific committee of the ECMOnet, Past President of the German Interdisciplinary Society of Intensive Care Medicine (DIVI) and a past council member of the German Society of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care (DGAI). Professor Quintel is also a member of the German Sepsis Society and an Investigator in the SepNet Sepsis Clinical Trial Network in Germany and has participated in numerous sepsis and critical care trials.

 

Prof. Mike Grocott

Prof. Mike GrocottProf. Grocott is Professor of Anaesthesia and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Southampton (UoS) and head of the UoS Centre for Human Integrative Physiology. He is also a consultant in Critical Care Medicine at University Hospital Southampton (UHS) and leads the critical care research area of the UHS-UoS NIHR Respiratory Biomedical Research Unit. Further supporting his clinical expertise, Prof. Grocott has peer review published extensively. He is also the UK national specialty group lead for Anaesthesia, Perioperative Medicine and Pain within the NIHR Clinical Research Network and was the founding director of the UK National Institute of Academic Anaesthesia Health Services Research Centre. He is an elected council member of the Council of the Royal College of Anaesthetists and an elected board member of the UK Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine.
